Lets hear from the readers!

What makes you love a book? I mean really love it, enough to reread every year? What is your favorite thing about this book that you love? Is it the characters who we love to hate or hate to love? The romance or steamy scenes, maybe no steamy scenes? Or is it the storyline? Let me know in the comments!

What is a theme?

Some people may think a theme is where or when a story takes place. For example: A pirate ship or in the middle ages. The theme of a book is actually the universal message the story conveys to the reader. Some popular themes include but are not limited to: Good Vs. Evil, Family, Trust, Loyalty, Forgiveness, Coming of Age, and Justice. Themes cause readers to think critically about a deeper message and universal truths and may even cause them to view a character archetype in a different light. A good book will cause you to think and may even open your eyes to something going on in your own life, something you can relate to. Next time you read a book, think of what the story is trying to tell you. What message does it convey? Comment below about a theme you would like to read about or have read about.

Until next time…

No rest for the wicked

Or a writers mind for that matter. It’s almost 4am and I find myself unable to sleep. Sometimes my mind refuses to let me sleep when it’s convenient and often times wants me to sleep when I need to be awake. So while I have you here dear reader, let me share with you an artist I love. Amigo the Devil. Danny has such a way with lyrics and melodies that touch every part of my soul. I have been fortunate enough to see him in concert 3 times before this pandemic madness hit. I love every one of his songs but if I had to pick one that really resonates with me it would be “First Day of the End of My Life”. You can feel the raw emotion of the song as Danny picks at the strings. As someone who has fought against depression I can feel every lyric of this song. Mental Illness is something that should be talked about, understood, and not made something to be ashamed of. So, dear readers, head over to Spotify and check out Amigo's music. Let me know in the comments below what you think! Sorry to cut this short but I think my brain and body are finally ready to let me sleep, huzzah!

Take care,
